Salute !!!!!

Attention... Stand At Ease... Attention... Salute !!!

When i hear the word salute, It takes me to a big ground with a number of cops holding their breath, standing like a line drawn in an algebra class with their guns. I still can retrieve the 52nd Independence Day of India when I was 10 year old, where my dad holds my hand and watched the parade. That was the first time I was been to watch an Independence day parade. Yes, obviously it was an experience, the first time in my life I saluted my National Flag with conscious. And there after every year I tries to attend the parade though sometimes I cannot. Yes, I'm bit patriotic !! :=)

After eight long years trust me, I too got saluted. No no, I have not turned to a national flag or something. It was when I was entering the gate of my work, the security guy standing over there saluted me and I waved my hands back. It is not that I'm someone special in the company rather they do the same to 'most' of the employees. I felt it as a warm welcome when they do that same like an office boy give us a hot tea early morning.

Few months later I noticed that, I stopped getting those warm welcome. I was quite surprised but later on I realized that the security guys got changed. These newbies took over the place of old buddies. Neither I'm bothered about that.

On a fine morning, as usual when I was entering the gate of my office, the person who drove in front of me got the salute and I got ignored. I was like Ok, may be he missed out me in that chilling weather. Same happened the very next morning and the day after and it goes on. Since then, I started noticing him and those people who is giving and avoiding.

Few weeks back, When myself and few of my colleagues need to work over night to submit some report, We had our dinner from the office. As a part of our decency, We invited them for the dinner. Everyone had the food, we all went back home and had a good sleep.

The very next morning, when i was entering the same office, same gate, same building, the SAME security peeped inside my car and gave me a hard salute. where I made a pity look at him. There after I started getting a big smile and salute from HIM where some others still don't.

I have read many racial attacks and racial attitude happening all around the world. But this was the first time I noticed such a thing.Should we need to feed them to get a welcome?

These security guys wear a cap where there is an emblem on the middle. I guess it is a device which automatically detects the color of the skin and passport which force them to hit their legs on the floor and raise their hands up and TUK !! Salute !!!!
